Slightly above Malaga, in a rural and hilly part of Andalusia, stands our lovely, peaceful and charming holiday villa "Casa Ardalejo", surrounded by fig, avocado, citrus and olive trees. Both outside and inside, the villa breathes nothing but peace and quiet, exactly what a vacation should offer. Around the house you hear many birds singing, crickets chirping, the rustling of palm leaves and occasionally in the distance a rooster crowing, a neighing horse or a braying donkey. Location Casa Ardalejo has a serene view of beautiful green mountain peaks. It is situated in a lovely green and peaceful setting at the edge of the village of Alhaurin el Grande. Away from all the hustle and bustle of the coast and where you can relax and unwind nicely. And yet, due to its central location, the village centre is within 6 minutes and the coast with its beaches, the airport and Malaga are within approximately 25 minutes. The region and nature are very varied and have much to offer. Apart from relaxing in our villa, our location is also a good base for visits to beautiful cultural cities such as the Alhambra in Granada, Seville, Cádiz, Ronda the oldest city in southern Spain, Cordoba, Malaga, which are all easily accessible in 1/2 to 2 hours. For golf lovers there is plenty of choice. The nearest Lauro Golf lies 5 minutes away and the beautiful golf resort Alhaurin Golf in the Sierra de Mijas about 10 minutes away. The villa is located at the foot of the Sierra de Mijas, where you can be in the woods for a nice walk in about 10 minutes. Alhaurin el Grande is not yet overrun with tourists and is a pleasant and still reasonably authentic village where everything is within reach. Excellent bakeries with delicious pastries, shops, several supermarkets, but also a butcher, fish and vegetable shop, and on Thursdays the local market. Exterior The House The villa has ample parking on its own grounds of approximately 3000m2 which is completely enclosed. There is a garden all around the house. The back of the house is the living area. It faces south and offers a view of a lovely swimming pool and palm trees with silver-green olive trees in the background, which blend into the beautiful green and peaceful mountains of the Sierra de Mijas. Terrace(s) The villa has a nice large veranda at the rear which provides shade especially during the summer months. Here you can sit comfortably in comfortable chairs to have a drink or read. There is also a large dining table where you can enjoy a meal or, while enjoying a lovely glass of wine, appreciate the beautiful view, the peace and quiet around you. Outside the veranda hangs a hammock where you can doze nicely and there are seating areas in various spots where you can seek out the sun or shade. Swimming pool The spacious swimming pool of 9x6 meters is filled with salt water and offers refreshment after a cultural or active day or as entertainment for the children. It is pleasant to spend time by the pool, to read a book under a parasol and/or to sunbathe and relax nicely on one of the comfortable loungers. Outdoor kitchen The outdoor kitchen has a view of the veranda, the garden and the pool. The outdoor kitchen has a BBQ and a large wok burner, both gas-powered. Here you can grill a nice fish or a beautiful piece of meat or fry fresh fries in the presence of family or friends. You can also keep the grilling/cooking chef company, sitting at the table under the shade cloth. Interior The Kitchen A pleasant large kitchen where several people can cook nicely. If you enjoy cooking, you won't quickly run out of things. The kitchen is equipped with practically everything you can think of from a coffee machine with beans, Nespresso machine, to an electric grill plate, to a slow juicer etc etc. and plenty of crockery etc. In the utility room there is a washing machine, ironing board, iron, vacuum cleaner and cleaning supplies. The Living Room The central point of the house is the spacious living room. The high ceiling, the mezzanine and the windows give an extra sense of space and it is comfortably furnished. The thick walls of the house ensure that during the hot summer the house stays pleasantly cool and in winter the warmth stays inside. From the living room you have access through 2 sliding doors to the veranda and the garden at the rear of the villa. Both in summer and in winter you can enjoy yourself nicely here both inside and outside with a glass of wine and burning candles. The Bedrooms There are three spacious bedrooms with plenty of cupboard space and 2 bathrooms. The "master bedroom" has a double bed and an en-suite bathroom. The other 2 bedrooms (1x double bed and 1x 2 single beds which can also be pushed together as a double bed) are adjacent to the second bathroom. The Mezzanine For those who may need to do some work during the holiday. On the mezzanine there is a large L-shaped desk. Here you can work undisturbed for a few hours a day and leave your things lying around, without the other holidaymakers being bothered by it.
