Our holiday home, Casa Ozio, is located in the heart of the beautiful Barolo wine region, surrounded by rolling vineyards and with (weather permitting) a breathtaking view of the Alps. The name Casa Ozio refers to the Italian word for rest and relaxation, and that is precisely what you will experience here. The house combines comfort and charm and is ideal for families or groups. There are four bedrooms, two bathrooms and two toilets. The fully equipped kitchen has everything you need: a dishwasher, oven, microwave and induction hob. There is also a washing machine. Outside you will find a lovely terrace with a swimming pond, perfect for relaxing and enjoying the peace and nature. On the first floor there is also a small terrace at the front of the house, where you can enjoy a cup of coffee in complete silence in the morning with a view of the vineyards. Inside, a record player with a selection of Italian vinyl records creates a warm, nostalgic atmosphere. Ideal for ending the day with a good glass of wine and soft Italian music in the background. The area around Barolo is world-renowned for its excellent wines and refined gastronomy. In the nearby villages you can visit numerous wine estates for a tasting and get to know the famous Barolo wine. In addition, you can enjoy delicious Piedmontese cuisine in local restaurants, featuring regional products such as truffles, fresh pasta and fine cheeses.     Wat een heerlijke plek! Het begint bij opstaan en ontbijten aan de zwemvijver, met daarachter een ongelooflijk mooi uitzicht, puur natuur. Je voelt je meteen thuis in het prachtig gerenoveerde huis met ongelooflijk veel charme, ruimte en licht. Het is heel mooi gelegen, in een fantastische streek, enkel wijngaarden om je heen. Wie van wijn houdt, zit daar op zijn plaats. De dorpjes in de buurt zijn gezellig en authentiek. Een dagje vertoeven in de tuin, op het mooie terras, in de zwemvijver. Dat afwisselen met een uitstapje naar een stad, markt of dorp of een bezoekje brengen aan een lokale wijnboer. Het kan er allemaal. De klokkentoren moet je omarmen en nu dat er airco is, zullen de nachten ook wat minder zwoel zijn. Een echte aanrader, wij gaan zeker terug.

    Vanaf dag 1 waren we verliefd op het huis en de omgeving. Het huis is duidelijk met smaak verbouwd en je voelt je er direct thuis. Een goed ingerichte keuken met al het nodige, een knusse zithoek met een fluweelzachte zetel waar je kan genieten van een warme sound die je oren binnendringt via de geluidsboxen en een zalig bed met goede matrassen en kussens. Genieten van de mooie uitzichten kan je op het ochtendterras of achteraan de woning terwijl je een frisse duik in de zwemvijver neemt. In de directe omgeving zijn er mooie dorpjes, wijnbars, restaurants en vooral heel veel wijngaarden waartussen je kan gaan wandelen en volledig tot rust kan komen. De eigenaars gaven ons vooraf heel wat info en interessante adresjes mee zodat we onze vakantie helemaal op maat konden invullen en het voor ons een geweldige vakantieweek werd!
