At Ikigai B&B, happiness is shared with guests under the Portuguese sun. It is more than a B&B – it is a place where time stands still and where guests are pampered without pretence. The B&B is located on a hill, just outside the village centre, on a car-free street, surrounded by pine trees, vineyards and fruit gardens. Here only the sound of whistling birds and the soft wind can be heard. A place to truly find peace, in the middle of nature, with all the comforts of modern life. Walks can start directly from the door towards hidden springs, authentic old villages such as Carvalhal and Óbidos, or discover the Serra de Montejunto and the Serra dos Candeeiros for those who love a challenge. The B&B is close to daily markets in Caldas da Rainha and Bombarral but far enough away from tourist noise. A special park (Bhudda Eden) is a 5-minute drive away. The Atlantic Ocean with beaches and water sports opportunities can be found in Foz do Arelho, Lagoa de Óbidos, Peniche, Baleal, Lourinha, São Martinho do Porto, Nazaré. There is still plenty of unspoilt nature and a rich history with many monasteries, castles, fortresses to discover, including Óbidos, Alcobaça, Batalha, Tomar, Mafra, Lisbon, Sintra, Santarém, Coimbra, Conimbriga, Ericeira, Fatima, Lagoa de Óbidos, the Berlengas, … The owners experience Portugal as a safe haven for tourists and where locals welcome you with a cheerful 'bom dia'!

The modern room is tastefully decorated and throughout the house you will find a consistent colour palette of white and wood, combined with light grey concrete-look flooring. This room features stylish interior with olive green accents and large windows with airy, light curtains that let in natural light and can be shaded in the evening with electric roller shutters.

We can also make 1 double bed from the 2 single beds ;-) On the terrace you can relax endlessly and enjoy the sun; from early morning to late evening the room is bathed in warm morning colours, while in the evening you can enjoy a magical sunset over the hills. The spacious private terrace, equipped with loungers and sun umbrellas, invites you to relax with a book or a glass of local wine, surrounded by the soft song of birds and the peace of nature.

    We had an absolutely overwhelming and wonderful stay at B&B Ikigai! The house is incredibly stylishly furnished, and our room was fantastic and very modern. The beds were superb and exceptionally comfortable. The property offers some amazing amenities, including a beautiful pool and a large roof terrace where you can enjoy stunning sunsets. Having free parking directly in front of the house was also very convenient. The location is absolutely perfect for excursions around the region. It is an ideal base to explore the medieval town of Óbidos, Nazaré, the Atlantic coast, and even for a day trip to Lisbon. What truly made our holiday so special was the incredible hospitality of the owners, Inne and Paul. We were overwhelmed by how welcoming they were, creating a very warm and familiar atmosphere. They provided us with great local recommendations and conjured up an outstanding breakfast every morning, perfectly tailored to our wishes. For anyone traveling by car and looking to discover the beauty of Portugal, we absolutely recommend B&B Ikigai. Thank you, Inne and Paul, for making our vacation unforgettable!
