LE BONHEUR is a small-scale, family-run B&B with Gîte, and 2 B&B rooms. Located on the grounds of an old 'distillery' from 1612, in the rolling Cognac region, South-West France, 770km from Brussels. We have 2 B&B rooms and a gîte: - a B&B Family room (up to 5 people) - a B&B Suite (2 to 3 people) - a well-equipped gîte (holiday home 4 people) without breakfast. By the swimming pool you can enjoy the sun in a deckchair and taste a local wine, a Pineau des Charentes or a cocktail with Cognac from a local cognac producer. In the enclosed garden you can seek shade under the cherry tree and chill out with a good book in the hammock. Next to our grounds, sports enthusiasts and children can use the playground and free sports fields (football, basketball, tennis, skate...). Bicycles and motorbikes can be safely parked in the barn on the closed grounds. The grounds are pleasantly quiet, located on the edge of a village with all the necessary facilities such as bakery, grocer, restaurant, pizzeria... and next to the beautiful, rolling vineyards and forests. B&B Family Room features 2 spacious bedrooms and a bathroom with bathtub and shower, on the first floor of the residential house. Bedroom 1: 1 double bed of 180x200cm. Bedroom 2: 2 double beds of 140x190cm The bathroom is equipped with a bathtub, shower, double sink and toilet. We accept a maximum of 5 people in the family room. Dogs are not allowed. If you wish to bring your four-legged friend, we will refer you to the Gîte, where we do accept pets outside the high season. Price includes room with extended breakfast. Wij zijn vorig jaar in oktober gaan genieten van een zalig nazomertje in “Le Bonheur”. De natuur was zich aan het klaar maken voor de herfst en de omliggende wijngaarden waren prachtig mooi. Ook het nabij gelegen stadje Angouleme was een aangename verrassing met van die kleine kronkelstraatjes met leuke winkeltjes en restaurants. Maar ook op het domein zelf was het heel aangenaam met veel plekjes om buiten te zitten. De gastvrouw verwent je elke ochtend met een heerlijk ontbijt met verse producten die op het domein zelf groeien. Zalig die vijgen die echt het zonneke gevoeld hebben. Het leukste vond ik die avond dat de gastheer de vuurkorf aandeed. Iedereen zat rond het vuur met een glaasje wijn. De kindjes kregen wat chips en waren zo innig tevreden. Zalige avond waar ik. Of dikwijls aan terug denk. Het geluk ligt er inderdaad binnen handbereik....
Wat een mooie woorden!! Wij hopen je nog zeker eens terug te zien! De herfst is voor ons ook het mooiste seizoen : de kleurenpracht vd natuur, de zon, wild op het menu én natuurlijk Le Beaujolais est arrivé (de eerste wijn van de oogst is gearriveerd, in Frankrijk alweer een reden om te feesten).
Zalig domein, perfecte plaats om tot rust te komen, kleinschalig en dus ook veel privacy. Zeer aangenaam gastgezin. Wij hebben al onmiddellijk 2 weken geboekt voor volgend jaar!! Een aanrader
Ons verblijf bij Le Bonheur is thuiskomen. Er is alles aanwezig voor een ontspannen verblijf. Je kan er genieten in alle rust en stilte. Toch is het ook perfect gelegen om leuke uitstappen te doen. De gastvrouw en gastheer geven je graag de nodige tips. S avonds werd de dag afgesloten met een glaasje wijn. Wij komen zeker terug!
